SaveAfter is operated by Digital Summit LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the SaveAfter mobile app collects, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers the app and this website.
The short version. We collect what we need to track your purchases, read store policies, and find legitimate savings — nothing more. Your receipts and purchases are private to your account. We do not sell your data, and we never use your receipts, purchases or savings to target ads. On the free plan the app shows ads from Google AdMob; on iPhone they are personalized only if you allow tracking, and on Android the app requests non-personalized ads. Paid plans have no ads and are billed by Apple or Google. You can export or delete everything from inside the app.
Information we collect
Account information. You can use SaveAfter as a guest, in which case we hold an anonymous account identifier and no contact details. If you save your account, we store the email address you sign in with, or the identifier Sign in with Apple returns (if you choose Hide My Email, we only receive Apple's relay address).
Receipts and order evidence. Photos of receipts, PDFs, and order-confirmation emails you choose to add. Receipts can contain personal information such as your name, a store address, a loyalty number, an order number, or the last digits of a payment card. We never ask for full card numbers and do not store them.
Purchase details. The store, purchase and delivery dates, prices paid, product names, model numbers, SKUs and UPCs, and any corrections you make.
Outcomes and preferences. What happened when you asked for an adjustment or return, amounts you report recovering, your alert threshold, notification settings, and store memberships you tell us about (memberships can change which policy applies).
Device information. A push-notification token if you allow notifications, your device's time zone (so deadlines are counted on your calendar), app version, and operating system version.
Plan and usage. Which plan you are on, and counts such as how many purchases you are tracking and how many receipts you have scanned this month, so plan limits can be applied.
Subscription information. If you subscribe, Apple or Google processes the payment. We and our subscription service, RevenueCat, receive your SaveAfter account identifier together with the store's record of the subscription (product, purchase and renewal dates, status, and the country of your store account). We never receive your card number or other payment details.
Advertising data (free plan only). The Google AdMob software in the app collects information needed to show and measure ads: your IP address, device type and operating system, app version, ad interactions, and on iPhone the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking. On Android, the Android advertising ID is available to AdMob under your phone's ads settings.
Links you open. When you open a retailer's product page from a savings option, we record which option you opened and when.
Support messages. What you send us through the in-app Help & Support form or by email.
Diagnostic logs. Request timing and error information, used to find faults and keep the service secure.
SaveAfter does not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, bank or card credentials, or health data.
How we use it
To read your receipt and identify the exact product you bought.
To apply the store's official return and price-adjustment policy to your purchase and work out your deadlines.
To check current prices for that exact product while your window is open, and alert you when a legitimate saving appears.
To show you the evidence you need at the store: your receipt, the current price, and the official policy link.
To provide the plan you chose, apply its limits, and process subscriptions, renewals and restores.
To show ads on the free plan, and to measure commissions when a retailer link carries affiliate tracking.
To answer support requests, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
We do not use your receipts, purchases or savings to choose the ads you see, we do not give them to advertisers, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
Automated processing
SaveAfter uses AI models provided by Google (Gemini, running on Google Cloud's Vertex AI) to read receipts and order emails, to turn retailers' published policy pages into structured rules, to look up current prices for the exact product, and to write plain-language explanations. AI never decides whether a purchase is eligible — eligibility is computed by fixed rules from a policy version a person has reviewed, and every eligibility screen links to the retailer's official policy so you can check it yourself. Retailers make the final decision on any request.
Who we share it with
Google Cloud / Firebase hosts our database, file storage, sign-in and notifications.
Google Cloud (Vertex AI) receives receipt images or email text when you add them, so the receipt can be read. Under Google Cloud's terms this data is not used to train Google's models. It is held in memory for up to 24 hours to speed up responses, and Google may log prompts to check for abuse of its AI services.
Apple and Google deliver push notifications, process subscription payments through the App Store and Google Play, and Apple handles Sign in with Apple if you use it.
RevenueCat manages subscription status for us. It receives your SaveAfter account identifier and the store's subscription records, never your receipts or purchases.
Google AdMob (Google LLC) shows ads on the free plan and collects the advertising data described above under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). It does not receive your receipts, purchases, email address or name.
Affiliate networks. When a retailer link carries affiliate tracking, the network receives a random click identifier and the page you are sent to, so it can report whether a purchase followed and pay us a commission. It does not receive your name, email or receipts.
Digital Summit's support system receives the messages you send through Help & Support.
When we check prices, we send product identifiers (such as a SKU or model number) to retailer pages, retailer data services, or Google Search through Vertex AI — never your name, receipt, or account. Google keeps those search queries for up to three days to debug the search service. We do not share your personal information with retailers. We do not sell or rent personal information. If you allow tracking on iPhone, AdMob may use your advertising identifier to personalize ads, which some US state laws treat as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising; you can stop this at any time as described under Your choices. Some retailer links in the app carry affiliate tracking, which means we may earn a commission if you buy; the app shows a disclosure next to those links, and affiliate relationships never change which options we show or how they are ranked.
How long we keep it
Receipt files are deleted 180 days after a purchase closes (you record an outcome or every window expires), or immediately when you delete that purchase or your account.
Purchase records, outcomes and preferences are kept until you delete them or your account.
Support messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for our records of it.
Subscription and affiliate-commission records are kept as long as needed to meet our billing, accounting and tax obligations.
Deletion from our database and file storage happens immediately when you ask; Google Cloud then completes removal from its underlying storage systems on its own schedule.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Receipt files can only be opened through short-lived links issued after your account is checked. Staff access to support records is logged, and viewing a receipt for support requires a recorded reason.
Your choices and rights
Export. Profile → Export my data gives you a copy of everything we hold about you.
Delete. Delete any purchase from its screen, or delete your whole account in Profile → Delete account. More about account deletion.
Notifications. Turn alert types on or off in Profile, or turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
Ads and tracking. On iPhone, choose “Ask App Not to Track” when asked, or turn tracking off later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; ads are then non-personalized. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google or Privacy settings. Paid plans show no ads.
Subscriptions. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings or in the Google Play Store app. Deleting your SaveAfter account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it with Apple or Google as well.
Access or correction. Correct purchase details in the app, or write to privacy@digitalsummitlabs.com. We respond within 30 days.
If you live in California, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights to know, access, correct, delete and port your personal information, and to object to or restrict processing. We honour those rights for everyone, wherever they live, and we will not treat you differently for using them. Where the GDPR applies, we process your information to provide the service you asked for (contract) and, for security and abuse prevention, for our legitimate interests. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
SaveAfter is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
